How to set up a telemedicine visit?

To set up a telemedicine visit, please call our main number 979-776-0169 and explain your wish to schedule a telemedicine visit. Please have your insurance information handy, as these visits are still filed with your insurance company and that information will be needed prior to scheduling. Also note that patients are responsible for any coinsurance or copays as indicated by your insurance company.

When do you need to contact the pharmacy for prescription refills?

If you are directed by the pharmacy to contact our office we ask you do so prior to 3 p.m. on any given day to allow us the time to process this request. Any request after 3 p.m. will be processed on the next business day.

Is Central Texas Sports Medicine a telemedicine facility?

Central Texas Sports Medicine is closely monitoring the latest developments with respect to coronavirus. We are following the recommendations that are provided by the CDC and are in constant communication with our local health departments and hospitals. In response to recommendations from CMS and the government, we have implemented telemedicine visits in order to still provide care to those that are having orthopaedic issues while lessening their public interactions. We are also providing same day appointments for patients that have a traumatic injury during this time. We are able to safely work you in, create a treatment plan, and limit your potential exposure by keeping you out of the emergency room.

Where to find insurance information for SHS?

Locate any health insurance information and upload it to the Patient Portal. Insurance information can be saved in the “Insurance Card tab. Please note that insurance is not required to utilize services at SHS, but can help reduce the out-of-pocket cost.

Can you do a physical exam through telemedicine?

Comprehensive physical exams cannot be done through telemedicine. Sometimes an in-clinic follow-up exam is needed, and will be recommended during the visit. Average appointment length: 15 minutes. Based on your needs, some appointments may be extended to accommodate.
