Our Approach

At Trauma Specialists of Maryland, we believe that traumatic events, big and small affect people’s lives and it takes specific interventions to effectively heal these wounds. Often traumatic events end up causing many symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, flashbacks, difficulty in relationships and anger.

How long is an EMDR intensive?

We are happy to announce EMDR intensives as a treatment option for clients who would like to do some trauma work in a short amount of time, instead of the typical model of meeting weekly for therapy. These intensives will be designed to happen in a 2-3 day period, based on clinician and client availability. You may be a good candidate for EMDR therapy if: 1 You are currently in therapy and your therapist would like to refer you for some EMDR. 2 You have done therapy for years, but would like to have your past memories no longer bother you. 3 You prefer to take some time to really focus on addressing past traumas or incidents, without taking months to do so. 4 You have good coping skills and a strong support system and feel ready to work through some past traumas.

EMDR Consultation

We have 4 EMDR Consultants at Trauma Specialists of Maryland who offer consultation groups and individual consultation by video groups as well as in person at 124 N. Court St., Frederick, MD 21701. There are currently 5 video groups available monthly as well as 3 in person groups.
