Health Information Management Services (HIMS) makes every effort to process requests expeditiously. The New Jersey state regulation allows up to 30 days from the date of the request to comply with any request to release information.
Your test results will be made available to you through the patient portal soon after they are finalized, and likely before your provider has had a chance to review them. It can be difficult to understand the meaning of test results without the input of your provider.

In the current records request process, patients and health systems are often at odds, as each struggles through an inecient system to accomplish needed tasks with limited resources. But ultimately, these 2 user groups have the same goals — and shared needs. That means that improving the records request process is a win-win.
