How do I request an ethics consult at MedStar Georgetown?

Any MedStar Georgetown associate directly involved in a patient's care, a patient, or valid surrogates can request a consult by calling the page operator at MedStar Georgetown at 202-444-PAGE (7243) and requesting the Ethics Consult Service or by calling the consult pager at 202-405-3959. The Ethics Consult Service is on-call 24 hours a day.

How do I obtain medical records from MedStar Georgetown?

Download a Medical Records Release form: For medical records from inpatient, ambulatory surgery, and emergency room visits, send the Medical Records Release form to: MedStar Georgetown has contracted with CIOX to process medical records requests. Records are mailed upon receipt of payment, if applicable.

After-hours vehicle safety services

Please call Protective Services at 202-444-3800, when you are ready to leave the hospital and a Protective Services department officer will escort you to your vehicle.

Wi-Fi Internet access

Individuals can simply select “MedStarGuest” as their Wi-Fi resource under Settings and connect by accepting the Acceptable Use Policy.

Communication services

Interpreter services for both American Sign Language (ASL) and more than 175 spoken languages are available 24/7 to all patients and families for appointments, procedures, and hospital stays. TThese services are free of charge and can be provided by video, phone, and in person.

Every patient has the right to determine how vigorously he/she wants to pursue life-sustaining measures when the end of life is near. The resources below are intended to provide comfort and guidance for these very personal decisions.

Pastoral Care

In addition to your physical health, MedStar Georgetown also cares about your spiritual needs. Our chaplains are available 24-hours-a-day to you and your family and can be paged by your nurse.
