What to bring to hospital for a stay?

You may wish to consider bringing only essential items such as sleepwear, bathrobes, slippers and toilet articles. Other items needed for your stay will be supplied by the hospital. Please leave all jewelry and other valuables at home or in the care of family members. When not in use, dentures, eyeglasses, etc., should be placed in protective containers. Large items, such as walkers, canes and wheelchairs, should be labeled with your name. The hospital cannot be responsible for the loss or breakage of personal items kept in your room.

How to make a long distance call to a hospital?

Can you wait in the emergency room if the emergency department is busy?

If the Emergency Department is busy, visitors will not be allowed in waiting rooms. Visitors will have to remain in their car outside the Emergency Department and be available by cell phone until patient is placed in a room.

Iredell Health System offers COVID-19 testing on a limited basis for individuals who meet specific criteria. If you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or suspect you may have COVID-19, please contact your primary care provider. As always, individuals experiencing medical emergencies should seek immediate medical care. Our Emergency Department is prepared to care for you in a safe environment.
