When is the Cook Children's health plan provider portal changing?

Introducing Cook Children's Health Plan new and improved Provider portal! We will be changing our Provider portal on July 1, 2020. We are making this change to continue to improve both our Provider and Member experiences and to integrate with Cook Children's Health Care System EPIC software system.

Does Cook Children's Health Plan cover chip?

Cook Children's Health Plan provides health coverage for CHIP, CHIP Perinatal, STAR (Medicaid) and STAR Kids Members in the Tarrant county service area. The counties we serve includes Tarrant, Johnson, Denton, Parker, Hood and Wise. Find out if you qualify for STAR, STAR Kids or CHIP.

How do I get an interpreter for Cook Children’s?

Cook Children’s offers interpreter services at no cost to you if the provider does not have someone to interpret for you. Call our Member Services Department at 1-800-964-2247 (TTY/TDD for hearing impaired: 7-1-1 or 1-800-735-2988) to schedule an interpreter and we will let your provider know who that person will be.

Children require specialized care when it comes to anesthesia. Cook Children's anesthesiologists specialize in giving and managing pediatric anesthetics—the medications that numb an area of the body or help you fall and stay asleep for a procedure.

Palliative care doctor

Palliative care doctors work with your child's team of doctors to ensure that whether it's a chronic condition, serious illness or injury, that your child is as comfortable as possible. The doctor also works closely with patients and families to ease both physical and emotional symptoms.

State Fair Hearing

If you, as a member of the health plan, disagree with the health plan’s decision, you have the right to ask for a fair hearing. You may name someone to represent you by writing a letter to the health plan telling them the name of the person you want to represent you. A doctor or other medical provider may be your representative.
