Trinity Health Of New England patients are encouraged to register for MyCare, a service providing free, personalized, and secure online access to portions of their medical records. This service allows patients to safely receive and manage information about their health.

What is HIE in healthcare?

Health Information Exchange (HIE) allows health care professionals to appropriately access and securely share patient medical information electronically. HIE systems have been in development nationwide since a federal law was passed in 2009 to promote the use of electronic movement and use of health information among health care providers.

What is the 21st century cures act?

The 21st Century Cures Act expanded the rights of patients to electronically access their medical history and treatment information. This prohibits the practice of restricting your access to your electronic medical information. I already use my Patient Portal (MyChart or CNme) to access my visits and test results.
