Sick Visits

At Watchung Pediatrics, we realize that one of the most anxiety provoking roles as a parent is providing care to an ill child. Our website offers a symptom checker feature and patient education resources to determine if a visit is necessary.

Receiving Reminders

When appointments are scheduled more than 5 days in advance, we will send parents an appointment reminder. Reminders can sent via text, email or phone call to your phone of choice (cell, home or work number).

Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNPs) are very special health care providers who are dedicated to improving children’s health. PNPs have advanced education in pediatric nursing and health care and they serve children and families in an extensive range of practice settings.

COVID-19 Vaccine Statement

The vaccine has been shown to be 91% effective at preventing symptomatic infection in this age group and demonstrated to be safe and has similar side effects as the vaccine approved for older children. If the vaccine is approved by the CDC, Watchung Pediatrics providers will also recommend the vaccine.

Millburn opens new acute annex!

Effective Tuesday, October 12th, our Millburn office will be opening a separate location dedicated to walk-ins, sick visits, and COVID-19 swabs! The Millburn Acute Annex will be located in the same complex, at 237 Millburn Ave ( click here for directions ). It will be open Monday - Friday. You will not need to call when you arrive anymore.

COVID-19 VACCINE EXEMPTIONS

Watchung Pediatrics recommends patients who are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine receive their vaccine as soon as possible.

Watchung Pediatrics is committed to the safety of our patients, families, and staff and strives to implement innovative ideas, sound scientific policies and environmental supports to limit the risk of potential spread of COVID-19 in our offices.

Rapid COVID Testing Available!

Watchung Pediatrics is pleased to announce that rapid antigen COVID-19 testing is now available in all three offices! This is in addition to the current COVID-19 PCR testing where the specimen is sent out to the lab from our offices.

Evening Hours: 6:00 pm - 6:00 am

Our answering service handles calls during these hours. Our pediatric nurses provide emergency advice to patients after hours. Please feel free to call if you have an urgent question or need to check on a medication dosage. The phones are busiest from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, so please be patient.

Weekends and Holidays: (6:00 am - 6:00 pm)

When our offices are closed, one of the practitioners is available until 6:00 pm by contacting our answering service. We would appreciate your calls during the morning hours whenever possible, so that we can schedule appointments when a practitioner is already in the office.
