At VPFW, a women’s health specialist is a physician for women, but the health issues they screen for at routine visits are not limited to female sexual and reproductive health. While they focus on gynecologic issues, our women’s health specialists conduct comprehensive exams and often catch other health problems such as heart and lung issues, bone density concerns, neurological disorders, depression and anxiety, and more. They look for any type of health risk.
VPFW is able to provide compassionate women’s health care when you need it, where you need it. With over 30 providers across six OB-GYN offices in Richmond, VA and the surrounding areas, including Henrico Doctors’, Midlothian Turnpike, Prince George, St. Francis, St. Mary’s, and West Creek, you will be able to find a great OB-GYN near you. The size of our practice means we can offer comprehensive services and convenience, yet our infrastructure allows for the personalized care indicative of a smaller practice.
Since an OB-GYN is a specialist that deals with issues that specifically impact women, it’s important to see them for annual well-women exams as well as for any women’s health issues or concerns. In addition to gynecology, pregnancy, and childbirth, OB-GYNs also deal with contraception, infertility, cancer prevention and screenings, breast health, menopause treatment, and other areas of female reproductive health–even beyond the reproductive years.
All VPFW providers and staff are being monitored and screened daily for COVID-19 symptoms at the start of each work day.
VPFW obstetrics patients may now have one adult (18 years or older) guest accompany them to any OB appointment.
VPFW continues to require masks for all patients and guests when inside our offices. We are continuing to follow guidance from the CDC and the State of Virginia, both of which still require masks in healthcare settings. Patients and guests will continue to be screened for COVID-19 as they enter any VPFW office.
We ask that all patients wear face coverings at all times while inside VPFW offices. VPFW physicians and staff will also be wearing masks at all times.
Our top priority is providing a safe environment for quality care so that VPFW remains one of the safest places you can be outside of your home.
With careful consideration for our patients’ safety and medical needs and following guidance from the CDC and the state of Virginia, VPFW’s offices are open for all appointment types, including annual exams and mammograms. If you are ready to be examined, screened and/or treated, we’re here to provide you with the care you need.
