What is VPFW?

At VPFW, a women’s health specialist is a physician for women, but the health issues they screen for at routine visits are not limited to female sexual and reproductive health. While they focus on gynecologic issues, our women’s health specialists conduct comprehensive exams and often catch other health problems such as heart and lung issues, bone density concerns, neurological disorders, depression and anxiety, and more. They look for any type of health risk.

Where is VPFW located?

VPFW is able to provide compassionate women’s health care when you need it, where you need it. With over 30 providers across six OB-GYN offices in Richmond, VA and the surrounding areas, including Henrico Doctors’, Midlothian Turnpike, Prince George, St. Francis, St. Mary’s, and West Creek, you will be able to find a great OB-GYN near you. The size of our practice means we can offer comprehensive services and convenience, yet our infrastructure allows for the personalized care indicative of a smaller practice.

Why is it important to see an OB-GYN?

Since an OB-GYN is a specialist that deals with issues that specifically impact women, it’s important to see them for annual well-women exams as well as for any women’s health issues or concerns. In addition to gynecology, pregnancy, and childbirth, OB-GYNs also deal with contraception, infertility, cancer prevention and screenings, breast health, menopause treatment, and other areas of female reproductive health–even beyond the reproductive years.

What is VPFW monitored for?

All VPFW providers and staff are being monitored and screened daily for COVID-19 symptoms at the start of each work day.

How many guests can you have at a VPFW appointment?

VPFW obstetrics patients may now have one adult (18 years or older) guest accompany them to any OB appointment.

Does VPFW require masks?

VPFW continues to require masks for all patients and guests when inside our offices. We are continuing to follow guidance from the CDC and the State of Virginia, both of which still require masks in healthcare settings. Patients and guests will continue to be screened for COVID-19 as they enter any VPFW office.

Do you have to wear masks in VPFW?

We ask that all patients wear face coverings at all times while inside VPFW offices. VPFW physicians and staff will also be wearing masks at all times.

Is VPFW safe?

Our top priority is providing a safe environment for quality care so that VPFW remains one of the safest places you can be outside of your home.

Is VPFW open for mammograms?

With careful consideration for our patients’ safety and medical needs and following guidance from the CDC and the state of Virginia, VPFW’s offices are open for all appointment types, including annual exams and mammograms. The Surgery Center at VPFW, our ambulatory surgery suite, is also open for outpatient surgeries including elective surgeries. If you are ready to be examined, screened and/or treated, we’re here to provide you with the care you need.

What is VPFW insurance contract?

Your insurance contract is an agreement between you and your insurance carrier. VPFW participates with most major insurance carriers. As a service to you, we will file your claims with your insurance carrier. As required by insurance carriers, you are responsible for the payment of deductibles, co-payments and non-covered services at the time ...

How long does it take to change your insurance with VPFW?

All balances are payable upon receipt. You are responsible for informing VPFW of changes in insurance coverage within 30 days from the date of service, or you may be responsible for any charges incurred due to delay in timely submission of your claims.

Is Virginia Physicians for Women a Care Credit provider?

Virginia Physicians for Women is a Care Credit provider. You may use Care Credit to pay for expenses not covered by insurance, including but not limited to services offered by The Renewal Center at VPFW. Special financing options are available.

Does VPFW charge for anesthesia?

You will receive separate bills from all providers of services, including laboratory, x-ray, pathology, anesthesia and the hospital. VPFW charges a fee for the completion of medical forms, such as medical disability, insurance underwriting applications, and life insurance applications. If you have any questions or concerns regarding bills from other providers, please contact your insurance carrier.

Who is the provider of MyHealthRecord?

MyHealthRecord.com (the "Service") is offered by Your Health Care Provider (“Provider”) through its website or a link provided to You and is operated and hosted by Greenway Health, LLC (“Greenway”, “We”,"Our" or “Us”). The purpose of the Service is to provide You with the ability to access certain individual health information and other information related to the health care services provided to You by Your Provider or to the individual patient for whom You are the legal representative, and provide for secure communication between You and Your Provider.

Can you use the Service to gain access to someone else's information?

You may not use the Service to gain unauthorized access to anyone else's information. It is possible that information about You may include sensitive or psychologically damaging information, depending upon the nature of Your medical information. You will need to use a user name and password to access the Service.

Does MyHealthRecord.com have a privacy policy?

This Privacy Policy applies solely to the MyHealthRecord.com website and Service and provides you information on the specific information that We may collect from you via the MyHealthRecord.com website Service and how We may use it in connection with the MyHealthRecord.com website and Service, whether you are using the Service as a patient or a Provider.

Can you edit the content of the communications between patients and providers?

Service users have the ability to view the trail of messages received and sent via their Service account. We do not edit the content of the communications between patients and Providers.

Can a provider control your health information?

If you are a patient or legal representative, your Provider’s use and disclosure of Your identifiable health information is subject to your Provider’s Notice of Privacy Practices. We cannot control any Provider’s use of a patient's identifiable health information. If you are a patient or legal representative of a patient, please contact your Provider for a copy of their Notice of Privacy Practices. We provide the Service on behalf of your Provider and therefore protect identifiable health information as required by the applicable agreement between Us and your Provider and in accordance with applicable law. This Privacy Policy does not in any way govern Our collection, use or disclosure of Your identifiable health information in connection with any relationship that we may have with your Provider other than as the operator and host of the Service; any such collection, use or disclosure is governed by the Business Associate Agreement that We have with your Provider, and all applicable laws. If you have any issues with the identifiable health information managed by your Provider, please contact them directly, as we have no ability to change the information you have provided them.
