Virginia Mason Medical Center is restricting visitors to the hospital to protect the safety of our patients, their family members, and our care teams due to recent COVID-19 activity in the community. Our priority is the safety and care of our patients, team members, and visitors.

Hospital visitation

As a response to the current community and facility COVID-19 situation, visitation may vary based on inpatient unit. Generally, we are allowing one designated visitor per day for many of our hospital units. Visiting hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (last entry at 7 p.m.).

How many visitors are allowed to visit a hospital?

Visitor Guidelines | One visitor is allowed for outpatient appointments or services, or same-day procedures. Pediatric patients may be accompanied by two visitors. Visitors must be age 18 or older and pass screening for symptoms of COVID-19 before entering any building.

Where is UVA giving shots?

UVA Health is now giving vaccines at the COVID Community Vaccination Center at Seminole Square, 393 Hillsdale Drive Charlottesville, VA. An appointment is required. To make an appointment for your first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, please contact the UVA COVID Vaccine Call Center Monday - Saturday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Do you have to wear a mask in UVA?
