What is student outreach clinic?from med.unr.edu

The Student Outreach Clinic is for any community member who is uninsured or underinsured and could not otherwise afford medical attention or preventative health care. Our clinics provide screenings, labs, x-rays and other services needed to better improve health care in Nevada. No personal information is collected from the patient at the clinic unless referral or follow-up information is necessary, and most services offered are free to the patient. We also have Spanish interpreters available at all our clinics.

We provide a wide range of medical services for our students such as primary and urgent care, reproductive and sexual health, sports medicine, psychiatry, immunizations and more.

Immunizations

We can update vaccines for incoming students. Please reference the required vaccines for admission to the University.

Student Insurance

While we do not accept private insurance, apart from the plan offered by the University for graduate, medical and international students, we are happy to provide you with an itemized list of charges which you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Minor Consent to Treat

If you or your student will be attending the University while under the age of 18 and plan to seek care from the Student Health Center, please complete the minor consent to treat form. This form must be completed before we can provide treatment.

The Student Health Center is offering free daily COVID-19 testing from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, to students, faculty and staff. Make your appointment by calling (775) 784-6598. The Student Health Center offers rapid Antigen testing, PCR testing for diagnosis of infection and antibody testing to identify past infections.
