Family medicine provides general medical care to patients of all ages. Our physicians and professional medical care teams offer the full spectrum of compassionate, family-centered care from pediatrics to adult and geriatric medicine. Our physicians conduct routine checkups, provide preventive care and manage ongoing medical conditions.
Internal medicine focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases in adults ages 18 and older. Our board-certified physicians offer exceptional internal medicine at several practices. We provide health maintenance exams as well as care for acute and chronic medical conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.
He has served at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for over thirty years, as a faculty member, academic advisor and administrator.
Janice Wells is a retired social work professor and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her areas of practice include medical social work and gerontology. She is committed to establishing community networks that help support aging adults, to remain in their homes as long as they can safely do so. She and her husband have helped organize two Aging in Place groups in Chapel Hill and have provided consultation to groups with similar interests in Durham, Brier Creek, Charlotte and Charleston. She is a Living Healthy trainer and has co-facilitated groups at the FMC and at Rogers Road Community Center in Chapel Hill.
Charlie Lehmann has been a patient at Family Medicine since he moved from Vermont in 2012. He has been a member of the Patient Advisory Council for almost 6 years. Charlie’s professional life has been focused on marketing, advertising and new product development. Given this background, he has been instrumental in developing communications initiatives targeted at providing patients with information that will enable them to partner more effectively with their medical provider. He has also served as a Co-Chair of the Council and is a mentor with SCORE.
