Patient between ages 14 to 18: Parent or legal guardian will have limited access to the child’s My Health Connection account. They will have the ability to message the child’s provider (s), but they will not be able to view test results, appointments, etc.
Adults age 18 and older may give another adult loved one or family member access to their My Health Connection account.
My Health Connection’s adult access gives a person you choose the right to log in to your account and the right to use your health information. This service can also be used by legal guardians or caregivers of dependent adults. They can access some parts of your medical record only if they have a durable power of attorney for health care.
Patients aged 14 to 18 may have the legal right to consent to certain types of medical treatment themselves. They do not need consent by their parent or guardian. UCHealth respects the rights of these young patients to keep their medical care private.
If you are the parent or guardian of a child younger than 14, you may request complete access to their medical record. You will be able to see all test results, schedule appointments, and read and send messages on your child’s behalf.
The University of Colorado University Hospital was originally created on October 1, 1989, as a nonprofit corporation pursuant to an act of the Colorado General Assembly, and the act was declared unconstitutional by the Colorado Supreme Court in 1990. It was recreated in 1991 as the University of Colorado Hospital Authority as a government agency.
UCHealth has been ranked as a top hospital in the United States on several occasions. In 2012, it was listed as a Thompson Reuters Top 100 Hospital, and in 2017, it was included in a list of America’s Top Hospitals, ranked in 11 adult specialties by U.S. News & World Report.
