Paying Your Bill

Thorek Memorial Hospital accepts personal checks, money orders, and the major credit cards. Payments can be made in person at the cashiers office located in the hospital lobby. Credit card payments are also accepted by phone at 773-975-6843 If mailing your payment, please use the payment envelope included with your statement.

Financial Assistance

At some time, almost every family is touched with an unexpected need for medical care. We offer self pay discounts and charity care to qualifying individuals. If you need help with meeting your hospital bill obligation, contact an Account Representative at 773-975-6843.

Deposits, Co-Payments, Deductibles and Financial Assistance

Patients should be prepared to present the appropriate payment for services at the time of registration. In the case of commercial insurance, the visit co-pay will be collected for the appropriate physicians or in the case of Public Aid recipients, the current applicable co-pay for the visit.

Central Scheduling

Our Central Scheduling office is available every day from 7:00 AM - 6:30 PM. This service can schedule your future appointments for Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Urology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, ENT, Dermatology, Gynecology as well as for X-Ray services.

Pre-Admission

Please contact our office if your doctor has scheduled you to be admitted to the hospital. You may call the Admitting Office at 773-975-6715 to verify if the information has been obtained for your visit or to assist you with your visit prior to your arrival. Patients are asked to leave valuables at home (money or jewelry for instance).

Lobby Desk

Our lobby desk is available to assist you with questions about patient visitors, transportation, parking or any other service information need. You may call Lobby desk receptionist at 773-525-6780 and ask for ext. 5100.

How long does it take to get a patient statement from insurance?

A patient statement will be generated after your insurance plan has considered the claim and there is patient responsibility or in 45 days from the date of service, if your insurance has not responded to our bill. If you are uninsured, you will receive an itemized statement of charges for the services rendered.

Does Thorek Memorial Hospital have separate bills?

You may receive separate bills from other health care providers who provided services to you at Thorek Memorial Hospital. Charges for radiologists, emergency room physicians, surgeons and attending physicians are billed separately. These services may not be contracted through your insurance plan.

Does Thorek Memorial Hospital have financial assistance?

Thorek Memorial Hospital is committed to meeting the needs of everyone in the communities it serves, including those who cannot pay for their care.
