Dr. Melgar completed his Fellowship in Asthma, Allergy and Immunology at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1995.#N#Dr. Melgar started in private practice with Medical Associates Southtowns, a multi-specialty group from 1995-1998. He founded Southtowns Asthma & Allergy Center in 1998. Over the past numerous years, Dr Melgar has become the premier Asthma, Allergy & Immunology specialist in the Southtowns. In 2006 he was elected President of Buffalo Asthma and Allergy Society. He served two terms, during his presidency he was able to make significant educational strides on the behalf of local allergists.#N#Dr. Melgar started flying airplanes at age 13 and soloed at 14 years old.
