What is TPCA diagnostic?

TPCA staff performs numerous diagnostic tests that create pictures of the structures and activities inside the body. The type of test performed will depend on the patient’s symptoms and the part of the body being examined. Some exams require prep on the part of the patient prior to an exam.

Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging. When a healthcare provider is informed of, or notices an abnormality in a patient, he/she may order a diagnostic test for more information. Radiology/Diagnostic imaging utilizes technology to examine the inside of the human body for purposes of retrieving clues about a medical condition.

What are the factors that affect radiation dose?

There are many factors involved in an individual’s radiation dose including but not limited to individual body habitus, disease and technical factors . Most diagnostic studies are read in-house and results are reported back to the referring physician the same day.

Directions to CT, Main Radiology, and Ultrasound

Park in the P2 parking garage for the main hospital. Enter through the Dozier Atrium and proceed to the Central Registration (if coming in as a patient) area located left of the coffee shop. Once you are registered, please proceed to the hall marked “Main Hospital” to the right of the coffee shop. Following this hall will lead you to Elevators C.

Directions to Nuclear Medicine

Park in the P2 parking garage for the main hospital. Enter through the Dozier Atrium and proceed to the Central Registration area (if coming in as a patient) located left of the coffee shop in the atrium. Once registered, please proceed to the hall marked “Main Hospital” to the right of the coffee shop.
