mystlukes is a secure online tool with convenient 24/7 access to your personal health records that is free and easy to use. On October 1, 2018, mystlukes moved to a new and improved portal. The new portal includes updated features to help you manage your healthcare needs.
The advantages of this unique, independent set-up for the patients are a reduced cost, choice of providers, and a convenience that lasts from the moment of arrival until the patient departs with his or her tests already completed in the office, or with a reminder slip of an order scheduled elsewhere by the clinic’s staff. In a world where a patient’s choices are being dictated by accountable care organizations, hospital systems, or by the government’s Affordable Care Act, SLMC still provides the unique physician-patient experience that seems to be lost in today’s medicine.
SLMC understands that “Quality Measures and Meaningful Use” will become the goals of the insurance companies and the large health systems. However, SLMC will strive to first meet the medical needs of their patients before jumping through the ever-changing hoops thrust upon them by insurance and health systems.
SLMC physicians work closely together, drawing on their more than 145 years of medical experience. SLMC’s wide array of medical specialties allows a patient to save both time and money. If a patient’s primary care doctor, for example, would like to refer his patient to a dermatologist, the patient isn’t just handed a list of recommended physicians and shown the door; an appointment can be made in-house and before the patient leaves with a dermatologist within the clinic. If a physician would like to order a blood test, the patient isn’t just given an order but is able to have their blood drawn without leaving the room in which they saw their doctor.
To even further the convenience for their patients, SLMC offers in-house lab testing, an X-ray department, bone densitometry, ultrasound exams, stress echo exams, and an infusion center, making SLMC a true “one-stop shop”.
Being an independent clinic, SLMC physicians also don’t have to limit the specialist selection to someone under the corporate umbrella of a specific healthcare organization. The physicians are free to recommend a specialist within the clinic or any other specialist they truly feel would best serve the specific patient’s needs.
Electronic Health Records, or EHRs, are a computer based system of patient medical records that focus on the total health of you, the patient. Everything that had been written by hand is now entered into a computer. This secure EHR system permits direct access to certain areas of our office and to your Personal Health Information (PHI).
