A diagnostic imaging study is a non-invasive way to look inside the body to assist your physician with making a medical diagnosis. Various imaging machines create pictures of structures and activities occurring in your body. South Carolina Oncology Associates (SCOA) performs on-site diagnostic imaging as a convenience for our patients.

Our diagnostic imaging services include: 1 Bone densitometry (an imaging technique to quickly and accurately measure bone density) 2 Computerized tomography (CT) scans (an imaging technique using multiple X-rays taken from different angles to produce images of the body) 3 Digital mammography (an imaging technique using low-energy X-rays to examine the breast) 4 Electromyography, or EMG (imaging tests to evaluate how nerves function and look for damage) 5 Electrocardiography, or EKG (measurement of electrical activity in the heart) 6 Magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI (an imaging technique that uses a magnetic field and computer-generated radio waves to create 3D images) 7 Positron emission tomography/computerized tomography, or PET/CT scans (imaging tests to see how your tissues and organs are functioning)
