The Quality Standard for Imaging | CoR

10 hours ago The QSI has been assessed for country-specific applicability. The QSI aims to improve the quality of care for people attending an imaging service. It sets out best practice to improve patient care and outcomes. Clinical practice is a continually evolving field, and the QSI will be independently reviewed every four years. >> Go To The Portal

What is the professional services organization at QSI?

QSI maintains a Professional Services organization that works directly with customers on implementation or adaptation of the QSI software to meet specific needs. This group includes project management, architects, software development, and testing resources.

What kind of assessments do students take at QSI schools?

When students come to a QSI school for the first time, they will take placement assessments in mathematics, reading, and writing. After our initial placement assessment, it may be necessary to do follow up assessments.

What is the Max BEMF volume for the QSI?

chuff volume, index 10, cv 52.10, max is 15 The QSI initially has problems with running BEMF on certain locos, usually high current dual motor, or large Pittman motors with "loose" geartrains. This will appear as "chatter" in very slow speed running, and could even have the loco surge. This is normally at DCC speed steps under 15.

What is QSI remote support?

Many of QSI’s products are designed from their inception with remote maintenance in mind, so troubleshooting configuration or site specific issues in the field is a snap. During remote customer support sessions, customer security is maintained through the use of strong network encryption protocols and industry-standard security practices.

What is QSI software?

QSI maintains a Professional Services organization that works directly with customers on implementation or adaptation of the QSI software to meet specific needs. This group includes project management, architects, software development, and testing resources. This group is based out in our Rocky Hill, CT. headquarters but works onsite at customer locations worldwide.

Where is QSI training delivered?

Training is typically delivered onsite at the customer location. See the link below for more information on the various training classes we offer.

What is mastery learning in QSI?

It is a well-researched practice with strong evidence for being highly effective where students learn more information than traditional school methods which receive a percentage grade to pass and move on. Mastery Learning is not a new concept but is starting to become the model for schools looking to reach all students in a more engaging and meaningful way. The idea is simple. In a traditional school, students can pass their courses and miss 40%, 30%, 20%, 10%, and even 5% of the course content. In Mastery Learning schools, we care about the students mastering 100% of the course content. We believe that these gaps in learning, if left unchecked, turn into deficits, difficulties, and frustrations for learning in the future.

Is time an indicator of success?

Time is not an indicator OF success but a tool FOR success. As such, time becomes one of the most valuable tools for students and teachers. All students are different and enter the classroom with varying levels of language fluency, emotional intelligence, work ethic, curiosity, aptitude for their studies, and degrees of content comprehension. It stands to reason that not all students will be able to reach a high standard of performance at the same time. As a result of removing time constraints, more students are able to demonstrate proficiency and achievement at higher levels throughout the year. As the quality and quantity of time work together to provide a positive learning environment, there is a shift in the perception of time. It is now used as a tool FOR learning that simultaneously develops and promotes a growth mindset. This shift in mindset leads to a solid foundation of learning and a healthy perspective of success that will benefit students throughout their education and careers.

Tuning for smoother slow speed operation

The QSI initially has problems with running BEMF on certain locos, usually high current dual motor, or large Pittman motors with "loose" geartrains. This will appear as "chatter" in very slow speed running, and could even have the loco surge. This is normally at DCC speed steps under 15.

Setting mute volume

By default it is set to 0, meaning completely mute sound when hitting F8

Consisting tips

A quirk of QSI's: make sure the sound is on before creating in advanced mode. (Mentioned in the Yahoo NCE forum)

Tips when you use the programmer

It's usually best to put the loco right on the rails, not rollers for programming.

Setting scale speed

You can calibrate your reported SMPH with the BEMF to Scale MPH Trim Register, CV 56.9, defaults to 128. Increase if report is too slow, decrease if report is too fast.

Programming direction and long address interaction

Back in October 2007, a user found a situation where changing the direction bit after setting a long address killed the sound output, and or the decoder stopped responding. A full reset got it back to ground zero. I had a similar reaction in a QSI decoder, but did not remember the sequence of commands. I need to see if this has been resolved.

Cool tip for programming on the main

Write a value to CV64, like 29. The decoder will announce the value. If it is an indexed register, write register 49 (and 50 if needed) first, then cv64.
