Diane has two graduate degrees, one in pediatrics and womens' health, and the other is a family nurse practitioner degree. She began her career as a nurse practitioner in 1995. After working for a number of different clinics Diane opened Prairie Family Healthcare in 2009.
Diane is available by phone (605-999-6262) after hours to answer questions and to guide you in your urgent care needs. When hospitalization is necessary Avera Queen of Peace Hospital has hospitalists on staff who provide care to all admitted patients regardless of provider.
Diane Kenkel, CNP. Diane grew up in Sioux Falls , but has enjoyed living in Mitchell for 25 years. Diane received all of her nursing degrees from South Dakota State Univeristy. She worked at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD as a pediatric nurse. Diane also taught nursing at SDSU and Huron University.
PFH provides preventive, acute, and chronic primary care services. Whether you have a sinus infection, need an annual wellness exam, or suffer from a more chronic condition we are here to care for you. PFH also provides immunizations for infants to adults, allergy shots, and select in-house lab.
Originally from Hitchcock, SD, Alahna earned a BS in Biology from SDSU and a nursing degree from Augustana College. She worked on the cancer care floor at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, and then as a travel nurse in St Louis and in Houston. Alahna returned to SD and earned her nurse practitioner degree at SDSU in 2011. After working in Minneapolis and for eight years in the state of Washington for the VA and Department of Defense, she returned to SD to live near family. Alahna approaches health care on a personal level, and feels healthcare should be a partnership and a consultant-based relationship. Communication and relationship are what Alahna strives for in her practice. We would love for you to come in and partner with Alahna on your health journey.

To schedule, click Request, and simply choose the organization and provider you wish to see. Next pick the day (s) of the week that work best for you, as well as the time of day. Give your care team a reason for your appointment, then click Submit. Your care team will contact you with available appointment times to secure your new appointment.
Message your doctor by clicking on the Inbox tab, and then hit Compose. Select the name of the provider you wish to correspond with, and write your message—just like email!
Click the My Health tab, and then the Results tab. Locate the lab work you’re interested in seeing the results of under the Value or Range columns. You may also be able to view details of your lab results by clicking on the document icon under the Options column.
Click the My Health tab, and then the Medications tab. Locate the medication you wish to renew, and under Options, click on the pill bottle icon. Feel free to leave your doctor a comment regarding this medication, then hit Send. Your doctor or care team will contact you when your prescription has successfully been renewed.
