How far in advance do you call Somers Orthopaedics?

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call the office at least 24 hours in advance (845) 278-8400. Somers Orthopaedics participate with most health insurance plans. Coverage varies with each insurance company. Patients are responsible for deductibles, co-payments and remaining balances.

Do you need a referral form for a primary care physician?

If your plan requires a referral, the Referral Form must be completed by your Primary Care Physician and brought with you to your appointment. If you do not have a referral form, your appointment will be rescheduled. If your plan requires a co-pay, this payment is expected at the time of service.

What is the 21st Century Cures Act?

Expanded Access to Your Medical Information. The 21st Century Cures Act is a recent federal mandate that expands access to medical information. Pursuant to the Cures Act, Nuvance Health will release most test results (excluding genetics) and provider notes through the patient portal as soon as they are available.

Can you see results of a genetic test before they are available?

Except for genetic testing, patients will receive test results as soon as they are available. It is possible patients will see results before their provider has had an opportunity to review them. Nuvance Health will contact patients about abnormal test results as quickly as possible. 8.

The secure, encrypted ONS Patient Portal allows you to send a question directly to your physician, and gives you the freedom to complete and/or update your registration, health and medication forms and more, at a time that is most convenient for you. You’ll have less waiting time at the office, and a summary of your visit can be downloaded for your records.
