Policy number. All health insurance cards should have a policy number. When you get a health insurance policy, that policy has a number. On your card, it is often marked “Policy ID” or “Policy #.” The insurance company uses this number to keep track of your medical bills.

Ohio Home Care Waiver Provider Portal Update Reminder

The Ohio Home Care Waiver Program case managed by CareSource has moved to a new system platform on April 1, 2021. The changes have enhanced the individual and provider experience. There will be new individual and provider portals that will look and act differently. Providers can get help by calling Provider Services at 1-800-488-0134.

NPI Needed for Ohio Medicaid and MyCare Waiver Providers

WAIVER Providers must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI) by Oct. 1, 2021 or claims will be denied. For more information, please click here.

Enhancements to Authorization on the Provider Portal

CareSource is excited to announce additional enhancements for the Provider Portal. In addition to initiating your prior authorization request through the provider portal, you can now submit requests to update your authorization requests. For example, you will now be able to add additional documentation or change dates of service.

2021 Medicaid Managed Care Annual Open Enrollment

Beginning September 17, 2021, Ohio Medicaid managed care members will be able to select their plan by calling the Ohio Medicaid Consumer Hotline at 1-800-324-8680 or utilizing the Ohio Medicaid Consumer Hotline Member Portal. You do not have to do anything if you want to keep your current Medicaid Managed Care Plan.

MYCARE OHIO

MyCare (Medicare-Medicaid Plan) is a health plan that combines both Medicare and Medicaid into a single plan for members who have selected CareSource for Medicare and Medicaid. When you choose CareSource for both Medicare and Medicaid, you will have no copays or premiums for your Medicare or Medicaid benefits.

HOME CARE WAIVER

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) has contracted with CareSource to manage these waivers in northeast, southeast and central Ohio. The Ohio Home Care Waiver program provides a cost-effective home and community-based service so that you can stay in your home and community.

Why is communication important in healthcare?

Communication is necessary to support continuity of care and member safety. To promote safe and effective care coordination, CareSource has provided a Coordination of Health Care Exchange of Information form.

Does CareSource have prior authorization?

CareSource is excited to announce additional inpatient prior authorization requests types are now going through Cite AutoAuth. You still initiate your authorization requests through the provider portal just like you do today; however the Cite AutoAuth module makes it easier for you to document requests and faster to obtain approvals.
