Ocracoke Health Center and Engelhard Medical Center are primary care providers for the residents and guests of Hyde County and surrounding areas. With locations in Ocracoke and Engelhard, our mission is to provide quality, accessible, affordable community-based medical care with respect and dignity to all individuals in a culturally sensitive manner. We care for all ages and we are equipped to provide primary care for your entire family.
The Ocracoke Health Center and Engelhard Medical Center provide pediatric care for newborns through adolescence (age 18). This includes well child visits, treatments of acute and chronic diseases, and supervision and guidance for parents and guardians to provide the best possible care for your children.
Behavioral health services are available at both sites through contracted services via face-to-face visit, as well as telemedicine to further meet the needs of our patients and communities. Our locations partner with East Carolina Behavioral Health to provide services for mental illness, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities.
