FollowMyHealth is a patient portal, made available by Northwell Health, to provide a convenient way for patients to access their personal health information from any computer or mobile device with internet access.
Please note that lab results can only be released to the patient or an authorized representative, Results are also available to some Northwell Health Physician Partners (NHPP) patients through FollowMyHealth, Northwell's patient portal. Call (844) 364-8108 for questions and technical support.
While in the Northwell Health app, tap the "Me" icon in the bottom navigation menu to enter your profile. Once in your profile, you will see a button to connect to FollowMyHealth. Or you can connect to FollowMyHealth here.
The PatientPORTAL App connects you, the patient, with your healthcare provider. The App enables you to view upcoming appointments and lab results, as well as send and receive secure messages for yourself and any dependents that you may have for easy communication with your provider.
According to Regional Medical Laboratory, most in-hospital results can be obtained within three to six hours after taking the blood. Sometimes blood drawn at other, non-hospital facilities can take several days to get results.
How do I get the Northwell Health app? The app can be downloaded to your phone from the App Store if you have an iPhone, or the Google Play Store if you have an Android.
Reviewers felt that MyChart meets the needs of their business better than FollowMyHealth. When comparing quality of ongoing product support, reviewers felt that MyChart is the preferred option. For feature updates and roadmaps, our reviewers preferred the direction of MyChart over FollowMyHealth.

Portals provide physicians with a fast and easy way to communicate with chronically ill patients. They are a place to get complete and more accurate patient information. Portals empower patients to take ownership of their own healthcare, so they remain aware of the entire care process.
Among individuals who were offered a patient portal, about eight in 10 were encouraged by their health care provider to use it. Seventy-one percent of individuals encouraged by their health care provider accessed their portal at least once in the past year compared to 48 percent who were not encouraged.
The researchers found no demographic differences among nonusers who said that a technology hurdle, lack of internet access or no online medical record was the reason why they did not make use of a patient portal.

Through the FollowMyHealth patient portal, registered users can request online access to medical information for an adult in their care who has impaired decision-making abilities. Proxy access enables you to view the adult patient’s health information in the portal and, in some instances, communicate through the portal with the adult patient’s healthcare team.
If you are the parent or legal guardian of a Northwell Health patient who is under the age of 13, you can request proxy access to your child’s health information in the FollowMyHealth patient portal.
Northwell Health patients will encounter the FollowMyHealth name when receiving emails about the FollowMyHealth website. Patients registered for the FollowMyHealth patient portal can also download and use the FollowMyHealth app for iPhone/iPad and Android.
