All full-time undergraduates now have 24/7 free, immediate, and unlimited access to medical and mental health screening visits through Fisher Care, powered by TimelyMD. During the 2020-2021 academic year, Fisher Care will remain an option for undergraduate students who are in need of health care or counseling support.
The Health and Wellness Center may refer you to outside specialists or hospitals for treatment or services beyond what we provide. You or your parents are responsible for all costs incurred outside the Health and Wellness Center. Your insurance plan may cover all, part, or none of these costs.
There is no charge for mental health services and insurance is not billed. If insurance cannot be billed for any reason, including a lapse in coverage, you will be charged $25 for each medical visit to the Health and Wellness Center.
You will be assigned to a provider of your choice, and a team of other health care experts will work with the provider and you to ensure that you get the personal care you need and deserve. You may have a care manager assigned to you to assist you with meeting all of your medical needs and help you set up a plan to improve your overall health.
The relationship between you, your physician, and care team is the driving force behind a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Your physician will provide medical care that is right for you following evidence-based guidelines/standards of care that have proven to be effective in improving certain illnesses.
Your physician will direct the care team (clinic staff) to coordinate your care based on your wants and needs. To improve efficiency, the team will plan for your appointment by reviewing your record and making sure all required documents are in your chart.
