A virtual visit is a secure video appointment with your provider via your smartphone, tablet, laptop and/or desktop computer. This allows patients to conduct a traditional office visit with their provider electronically through the MyChart app or website portal without leaving home or work.
Inpatient units (including NICU) COVID-19 Negative Adult Patients: Patients may have two visitors daily with one allowed 24/7.
Ochsner will resume routine visitation for COVID-19 negative patients, including inpatients, outpatients, and procedural areas. Visitors are still required to practice social distancing in waiting rooms, cafeterias, and common areas. Visitors and patients should maintain six feet distance between those not in their group. Visitors will be asked to leave if they exhibit symptoms of respiratory infection, have tested positive for COVID -19 in the last ten days, have a pending COVID-19 test for symptoms, are unable or refuse to wear a mask OR do not comply with current policy.
