Patient Rights

Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center supports the rights of each patient and is committed to ensuring the protection of those rights in its provision of care, treatment, and services. In the event of a minor or an incompetent patient, the patient's legal guardian assumes these rights and responsibilities.

Admission

When you visit Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center, one of three things may happen. You may be admitted for a planned procedure, admitted on an emergency basis, or kept overnight without admission to evaluate whether you should be admitted.

Discharge

You should be notified of the day of your discharge in advance. Please speak with a discharge planner or nurse before that time. One thing that will help you prepare for discharge is to keep a small pad with questions you may have for doctors, nurses, insurers, or anyone else.

Advance Directives

Advance Directives are a way for you to protect in advance your right to have your wishes respected concerning the kind of care you want in case you become unable to make those decisions for yourself later. There are several different kinds of such directives.

Living Will

The living will is a directive which expresses your wishes and intentions concerning medical treatment if and when you are near the end of your life and unable to communicate those wishes. Its purpose is to provide clear guidance to your family and your doctors in terms of how aggressively to use life-prolonging medical treatments.

Patient Responsibilities

To provide accurate and complete demographic information to include but not limited to: name, appropriate alias, age, sex, social security number, home and work phone numbers, place of employment and insurance information.

Chaplain Services and Chapel

TLRMC has local ministers who volunteer as chaplains for our hospital. Each week one of the Chaplains is on-call. Chaplains can provide emotional support, comfort, encouragement and spiritual aid to those in need.

Twin Lakes Patient Portal has changed to MyChart

We are no longer adding new accounts in the legacy patient portal. Current account holders will be able to log in and access their previous medical records until September 30, 2021, or call 270-259-9517 to request a copy.

TLRMC Release of Information Services

ROI services provides health information to patients, physicians, other healthcare providers, attorneys, insurance companies and other parties with a need to obtain copies of patient records.

Privacy Officer

The Director of HIM is certified in Healthcare Privacy for Security by the AHIMA and serves as the Privacy Officer for TLRMC, investigating and resolving any complaints by patients of a breech of privacy of their Protected Health Information.
