An EMR is a digital version of a patient’s paper chart that can be shared by participating doctors, hospitals, and patients. The Epic EMR is a computer system that stores your information in a secure database. Results and notes from a visit to the hospital, physician's office, or outpatient facility are consolidated in one place.
