Our medical staff of more than 100 consists of 37 medical/surgical specialties, with an extensive primary care foundation. The MMC Emergency Department remains ready to receive patients 24/7. Whether you have a child with an ear infection or a loved one has just suffered a heart attack, our team is trained and experienced in providing immediate, effective treatment for medical emergencies.

What age can you not give medical information to parents?

Due to federal and state confidentiality laws, patients who are between the ages of 14 and 17 are not required to disclose certain types of medical information to parents/legal guardians. This includes information regarding the screening and treatment for drug and alcohol related issues, mental health, reproductive health and certain diseases. For this reason, it is necessary to ask our patients in this age group to complete a consent form naming a parent/guardian as their portal authorized representative. Without this consent from the minor patient, we will not be able to give parents/guardians access to the minor’s patient portal. This consent will remain in effect for one (1) year unless the child (patient) revokes in writing.

What is patient portal?

The patient portal will allow you to communicate electronically with our staff and physicians. It will also provide other services that can be accessed at your convenience. The next time you are in our office for a visit, ask about getting set up to use the portal!

Is Meadville Pediatrics email secure?

While we work hard to ensure that all communication through the portal is secure, it is imperative that Meadville Pediatrics has your correct email address and that you inform us of any changes to your email. It is your responsibility to make sure your login information is protected from unauthorized persons. If you think someone has learned your password, please promptly change it or call our office. Your email address is confidential and protected information, Meadville Pediatrics will never purposefully share this information with a third party.

What is the emergency number for a child?

Emergency communication. Communication on the portal is restricted to non-urgent issues. If your child is experiencing an emergency, please dial 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room.
