What is COB in Medicare?

All services billed to Medicare follow federal guidelines and procedures. Medicare has a Coordination of Benefits (COB) clause; a provision that allow families with two wage earners covered by health benefit plans to receive up to 100 percent coverage for medical services.

Can an uninsured patient get financial assistance?

Financial Assistance. Uninsured patients who can’t pay their bill may be eligible for financial assistance, depending on the patient’s income and family size. All potential payer sources must be exhausted before a patient is eligible for financial assistance.

Does Medi-Cal pay for private rooms?

For Medi-Cal we will need a copy of your Medi-Cal card for the current month. Medi-Cal does not pay for the cost of a private room unless medically necessary.
