Lakeview Hospital | Birth and Women’s Center Care Services

We can accommodate vaginal and cesarean (C-section) deliveries, including vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). You’ll find special hydrotherapy tubs for laboring, as well as a water birthing suite for families planning on a water birth.

What is Lakeview Hospital Birth and Women's Center?

From childbirth classes to delivery and postnatal care, we provide comprehensive services and support for mothers and babies.

What is a Level 2 birth center?

Our birth center is a Level II nursery that offers private birthing suites, including water births and modern resources tailored to your personal birth plan. We provide integrative therapies, like aromatherapy and hydrotherapy, plus a variety of pain management options to help make moms more comfortable.

What is a patient room?

Patient rooms are designed to be serene spaces for birth and family bonding.

What to bring to a cervical exam?

Additional evaluation may include cervical examination, lab studies, placement of an IV, or other procedures. You’re welcome to bring anything from home that will make your stay more comfortable, including music, blankets, pillows, and other items.

How long do women stay in the hospital after a C section?

After a vaginal delivery, most women stay two nights. After a C-section, most women stay 3-4 nights. On the day of discharge you will be given instructions for going home. Most people leave the hospital by late morning or early afternoon.

Is labor and delivery room private?

Each labor and delivery room is private and includes a private bathroom. There is a pullout chair bed for your spouse or support person to rest or sleep, and the hospital has wireless internet and cable TV service in the patient rooms.

Is Birth and Women's Center for labor and delivery?

But the Birth and Women’s Center isn’t just for labor and delivery. Our OB-GYN doctors and midwives partner with our pediatricians and family medicine teams to offer a wide range of care that includes family planning, childbirth education, prenatal care and post-partum follow-up.

Urgent Care

Urgent or emergency calls are accepted at all hours. After hours, call (405) 936-1000 and (405) 936-1100 (Wasemiller-Smith office). Our answering service will answer your call and will notify the physician on call. All physicians in this practice alternate night calls and weekend duty.
