The National Health Care Reform Law stipulates that co-payments (“co-pays”) will no longer be required for certain preventative medical services such as annual physicals. Therefore, we will not collect a co-payment at the start of the visit. “Wellness Exams” are defined as including:
Other services performed at the time of the physical, such as blood work, EKG, and urinalysis may or may not be considered by your insurance as part of a ‘preventative’ service. These may generate additional costs in the form of a deductible and/or co-insurance. It is the patient’s responsibility to know what their individual plan covers and does not cover.

Inner Balance Medicine is an acupuncture specialty provider with Veterans Affairs and Workmans Comp pain management programs. Your physician must write a referral for treatment authorization through these programs.
After your session, you should eat a good meal or snack, drink plenty of water, and follow any specific instructions given to you by your acupuncturist. Depending on your condition, you may notice some changes in how you feel right away, but many conditions take a few visits to notice more significant results.
We are also in-network acupuncture specialist providers for certain plans with Blue Shield, Anthem Blue Cross, Sutter, Aetna, Cigna, United, Vitality, HealthNet, and Kaiser.
The licensed acupuncturists at Inner Balance Medicine have specialized expertise in holistic health and wellness. Please read the following information to prepare for your first visit.
