How to make a local call at a hospital?

To make a local call from a patient room, dial “9” for an outside line. There is no charge for local calls. Long-Distance Calls: To make a long-distance call, dial “0” to reach the operator. All toll or long-distance calls must be made collect or with a credit card and cannot be placed on your hospital bill.

What happens during a shift change in nursing?

During each nursing shift change the outgoing nurse will introduce the incoming nurse. The team will update the patient and family about the patient’s progress, medicine being given, and any tests scheduled for the day. This is a good time for the patient, family, or patient advocates to ask questions.
