Child Life Services, within the Department of Pediatrics, provides care for pediatric patients and families admitted to the Harbor-UCLA’™s pediatric inpatient unit, pediatric intensive care unit, pediatric outpatient clinics and the Pediatric Emergency Department. Child Life Specialists provide age-appropriate, psychosocial care to pediatric and adolescent patients and their families to decrease distress and increase effective coping with health care experiences.

What is a child crisis center?

The Center includes an initial assessment clinic (the KIDS clinic) that provides physical and mental health assessment, and follow-up services, for children entering the foster care system or court-supervised children.
