An esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) allows us to take a closer look at your upper gastrointestinal tract to diagnose issues with the esophagus, stomach, or small intestine. An endoscopic retrograde cholangiopa pancreatogram (ERCP) allows us to examine the bile and pancreatic ducts. Your stomach will need to be empty the day of either of these procedures.
