What to call a doctor about a refill?

A nurse or a physician may call you to discuss the refill if the patient has not been seen for regular checkups or if the prescription needs to be adjusted. It is in your child’s best interest to be examined by a physician to determine the cause of your child’s symptoms and the appropriate treatment.

Is Gadsden Regional Medical Center on call?

One of our physicians is always on call 24 hours a day. If you have an emergency please call the office number day or night. Please limit after hour calls to emergency situations only. Minor problems such as prescription refills, feeding and/or sleeping problems, etc., should be discussed with the phone nurse during regular office hours. It is always best to telephone first before transporting a child to an emergency facility. We only see our patients at Gadsden Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Department.
