What is ENT surgery?

Why do I lose my hearing?

Everyone loses some hearing as a natural result of the aging process but hearing loss can also be caused by a number of issues. Anything from obstructions like ear wax or fluid from an ear infection to more serious conditions like tumors, autoimmune disorders and diabetes can all cause hearing loss.

In the U.S., a new head and neck cancer case is diagnosed every 10 minutes. Head and neck cancers are usually found inside the mouth, nose and throat.

What causes head and neck cancer?

The most common cause of head and neck cancer is alcohol and tobacco use. People who use both pose a much greater risk of developing head and neck cancer. Other risk factors include certain types of HPV virus, poor oral health and exposure to radiation. Find out more.

Can sinuses cause headaches?

Sinus conditions can cause headaches, facial pain, breathing problems, a diminished sense of smell and more. The pain caused by nasal and sinus issues can be very debilitating. Sometime these symptoms can be difficult to control with medication alone.

Dr. Downs is a Board Certified Otolaryngologist and has provided Ear, Nose and Throat care in Flagstaff and the surrounding area since 1995. Dan received a Bachelor's degree from St. Olaf College and attended University of Minnesota where he earned his medical degree.

Benjamin H. Feldman, MD

Ben Feldman is a Board Certified Otolaryngologist with 10 years of experience in treating medical and surgical conditions involving the Ears, Nose and Throat. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine and was born and raised in the Verde Valley.

Michael Skelton, Au.D., CCC-A, AAA-F

Dr. Michael Skelton with Northern Arizona University (NAU) along with NAU graduate students have provided diagnostic hearing evaluation services to Northern Arizona Ear, Nose, and Throat patients since 2003.
