Is EyeMed good?

Making the Choice. Both EyeMed and VSP have several good vision benefits plans to choose from that include discounts on eye exams, prescription eyewear, and corrective eye surgeries. If your employer has either one of these options, you will be able to get quality vision insurance at a relatively low cost.

How to become an EyeMed provider?

What eye doctors accept EyeMed?

Our network includes optometrists, ophthalmologists and popular retail vision centers, so you can find an eye doctor near you, with office hours that work for you. You can learn more about how we build the network here.

How do I access my EyeMed account?

Visit eyemed.com and click on Member Login. If you're an existing user, welcome back! Just log in with your username and password. *The use of either your SSN # or Member ID is determined by how your benefit administrator registered you in the system.

How do I use my EyeMed discount plan?

Click the My Coverage tab at the top, and then click the Discounts link on the left. Referral? You don't need a referral. Simply visit any EyeMed provider and show your BCBSIL medical ID card.

Is Aetna vision the same as EyeMed?

Providers participating in the Aetna Vision Network are contracted through EyeMed Vision Care, LLC. EyeMed and Aetna are independent contractors and not employees or agents of each other. Participating vision providers are credentialed by and subject to the credentialing requirements of EyeMed.

What is the copay for EyeMed?

a $10 copayWhat is the eye exam benefit? You will receive a complete eye exam for only a $10 copay when you are using a network provider. Note: 12 months must elapse before you will be eligible for your next exam based on the date of service of your initial eye exam.

Does EyeMed cover non prescription sunglasses?

Does EyeMed cover sunglasses? EyeMed doesn't cover non-prescription sunglasses, but they do offer discounts at in-network providers that can help make corrective or non-Rx sunglasses more affordable.

Can I submit EyeMed claim online?

How long does it take to get reimbursed from EyeMed?

Please allow at least 14 calendar days to process your claims once received by EyeMed. Your claim will be processed in the order it is received. A check and/or explanation of benefits will be mailed within seven (7) calendar days of the date your claim is processed.

Does Medicare cover eye exams?

Medicare doesn't cover eye exams (sometimes called “eye refractions”) for eyeglasses or contact lenses. You pay 100% for eye exams for eyeglasses or contact lenses.

How much is an eye exam?

The cost of an eye exam is generally lowest (often about $50), when you have it performed by an optometrist at a retail store (like Target or Costco) or at an optical chain. Eye exam cost is highest when conducted by an ophthalmologist in a clinic or an office. Here, the cost of an eye exam can run well over $100.

Does Aetna insurance cover eye exams?
