What is an elation passport?

The Elation Patient Passport is an online portal for providers and their patients to securely share and communicate regarding their health information. With Passport, patients can access their visit summaries, medications, reports, and more online!

What information do patients have access to?

Patients have access to their critical health information – allergies, problems, history, current medications, immunizations, legal and specialists, for sharing with other clinicians who would find it helpful to facilitate care.

Can a practice share lab reports?

Your practice can share key clinical information like lab reports directly from the patient’s chart. Patients automatically have access to visit summaries from each visit and can reference your instructions anytime.

Can you customize the routing of patient messages?

On your side of the Clinical EHR, you can customize the routing of patient messages; ie. you can decide which members of your practice will receive incoming patient messages in their Practice Home queue based on the category chosen by the patient.

What is the elation code?

The Elation Invitation Code is used for privacy and security purposes as part of Elation 2-factor authentication for accessing a patient’s Elation Passport. You will receive your Elation Invitation Code via text message to your registered mobile phone when you click on the invitation email from your doctor.

What is an elation passport?

Elation Passport is accessible on any device that has access to the internet with a web browser (like Internet Explorer or Google Chrome). This means any tablet, mobile phone, desktop, or laptop regardless of whether it is an Apple or Microsoft product are all compatible.

How to update email password?

To update your email and password, click on your name in the upper right corner of the page and select Settings from the dropdown. Once on your settings page, you will see the option to “Change Email” and “Change Password” under the Login and Security section, as seen in the image below.

How to send a letter to a patient from a lab report?

You can initiate a letter from a lab report by clicking "Sign off and Send to Patient". or open a letter from the patients chart by clicking on the letter icon in the top menu. Enter a message to your patient and click "Sign and Send". You will be presented with a dialog box to invite the patient to Passport.

To prevent patient's from initiating new messages to your practice: Make sure patient initiated messaging is turned OFF: Go to Settings > Patient Passport Messages (under "Admin Users Only") Change the toggle to "No" to disable Patient Initiated Messages .

Writing a message to your patients is the same action as writing a letter to another provider. Under "Letters" in the gray action bar within the patient chart, select "Letter to Patient". Write your message. Click “ Sign and Send ” and the message will be delivered to their Passport account.

Disable Patient's Responses: Passport as One-way Secure Communication. If you would like, Passport can be set up to be a one-way, secure means of communication. With this setup, a patient will be able to view their information and receive letters in Passport but the patient will not be able to reply via Passport.
