A great opportunity for a career

Getting in the door at a private practice definitely has its benefits. Lovely offices, great docs and wonderful co workers. It is fast paced at times, and never boring. There are so many opportunities to cross train within the departments. Pay is as expected for positions within the area. No holidays, no Sunday hours.

Pros

Nice co workers, close knit family environment. Docs are nice. Great work environment. 401k

Cons

Insurance is expensive for kids/spouse, Some patients are allowed to treat staff poorly.

Productive, busy workplace

obtaining vital signs, assisting in minor office procedures, reviewing medical histories, administering immunization, drawing blood. What I love about my job is the patient, the environment. The hardest part of the job would be telling a patient they are having a miscarriage, have a new medical diagnosis. I love seeing all the babies.

Productive and caring workplace

I typically work in a few different areas. If I am on the floor with a nurse practitioner, I collect vital signs for patients and update their health history. Then, I assist the NP with exams and patient flow. I will also perform non-stress tests and venipuncture on patients.
