Does Apicha CHC have a sliding fee?

Yes! At Apicha CHC, we offer services to anyone regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status. If you are uninsured or underinsured, we offer a low cost/sliding-fee scale option based on your income. This means that if your income is below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines, your visit fees will range from $20 to $75. Prescription and lab fees are not included in this fee and will be an additional cost.

Request a Refill of Your Prescription

You can send Apicha CHC a refill request through the Patient Portal. It takes 1 business day to refill a prescription, and up to 3-4 additional business days if a prior authorization is required by your insurance.

Communicate With Your Provider

In the Patient Portal, you can send messages to your medical provider with questions or concerns. They may not be comfortable diagnosing any issues without seeing you first, but they may be able to tell you whether the issue can wait until your next appointment to be looked at or if you need to come in sooner.

Non-Medical services

In partnership with Hunger Solutions, NYC, Nutrition Outreach and Education Project (NOEP) seeks to increase participation in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), to reduce hunger in New York City.

Project Connect and other Community Activities

Project Connect’s youth initiative, GAYME (GLBTQI API Youth Mentorship for Empowerment), connects LGBTQI API youth with other youth and adults to share their experiences. The group format is utilized to provide a safe and supportive environment.

Begin by registering on the website to create an online account. Submit the information requested on the form, and confirm the account using the link you will receive via email.

What insurance plans do you take?

We take most major plans, including Medicaid, Medicaid managed care, ADAP, Medicare Part D, and most commercial insurances.

Do you give a discount if I don't have insurance?

Yes, we have discounted medications for Apicha CHC patients who get prescriptions written by Apicha CHC providers. We offer competitive pricing for cash paying patients.

Do you deliver?

Yes! We deliver medications to patients’ homes. You must live in the five boroughs or Nassau county to utilize our FREE delivery service. All requests for deliveries must be made before 5 pm to ensure delivery for the next business day.

What are the benefits of using the Apicha CHC pharmacy as opposed to my local neighborhood pharmacy?

It is convenient—there is no need to stop at the pharmacy or wait for prescriptions to be filled after leaving the clinic.

What types of medications do you stock?

We stock all of the common medications, including all HIV medications as well as hormone preparations. If there is something you need that we don’t have, then we can order it for the next business afternoon. Our pharmacists are highly knowledgeable and stay up to date with the most current HIV treatments.

Specialty Health Services

You will get regular checkups for diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure, STDs. You will get necessary vaccines and cancer screenings appropriate for you. Getting your HIV care at Apicha CHC also means receiving annual mental health and nutrition assessments and counseling if needed.

Supplemental Services

We also have supplemental services for those individuals who have had trouble receiving healthcare in prior situations because of language barriers, lack of health insurance, and other reasons.
