On January 1, 1982, the Yankton Medical clinic was first open as a result of a merger between the Yankton Clinic and the Medical Clinic. The Yankton Clinic was started in 1946 when the Late Dr. C.B. McVay and the late F.J.Abts had a treatment practice. After one year in 1947, they add Dr. T.H. Sattler and Dr. Brooks Ranney. The group continued to add new physicians and in 1966 was forced to expand the facility. It concluded that integrating the medical clinic was the solution to their development.
