What is the Washington University Follow My Health patient portal?

Our patient portal is a web-based pathway that gives existing patients access to a secure, convenient and free way to manage their personal health care information at Washington University School of Medicine.

Is it secure?

The first priority is patient privacy and the safety of patient information. For that reason, each patient has to sign up in person at the physician’s office. If you attend more than one Washington University center, you only have to sign up once.

What if I have questions about the portal?

If you are a new user and have difficulties setting up your account, we have some help for you. For problems accessing various parts of the service before or after you are logged in, contact the Washington University Patient Portal Support Team at wupp@wusm.wustl.edu or call (314) 273-0985.

Before Your Visit

At least a day before your virtual visit, log in to MyChart to finish eCheck-In. eCheck-In provides us the information and forms required to start your visit. If you need help with eCheck-in, call 314-273-1966 or (toll-free) 866-273-1966.

Connecting To Your Visit

From MyChart, go to Visits -> Appointments and Visits (or tap Appointments in the MyChart app), and select your appointment. Select Begin Video Visit .

MyChart offers many features to help you manage your care. The chart below shows all the features that existed before March, and the helpful new features we’ve added.

Can I add a record of my COVID-19 vaccine to MyChart if I received it outside the UW Medicine system?

Yes. You may do this by sending a photo of your vaccine card to your provider through MyChart or by bringing your vaccine card to your next appointment with a UW Medicine provider. If you received your vaccination through UW Medicine, there is no need to do anything as a record of your vaccination will be added automatically to our system.

You recently stayed in the hospital or had an outpatient lab test. Now you have online access to information, including a summary of your recent visit, lab results.
