What is the Gold Standard for Thermo Fisher?from wichita.edu

The Thermo Fisher TaqPath™ “Gold Standard” first utilizes a nucleic acid extraction step and then evaluates three different sequence targets of the viral genome. It currently requires a nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal, or anterior nares swabbing placed in Viral Transport Media. Specificity is essentially 100% and sensitivity is essentially 100% as well.

How long does it take for a saliva sample to show up in a mdl?

The MDL can process saliva samples, as well as nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab samples, providing results within 24 hours. Read more about our testing HERE .

How long does it take for MDL results to come back?

The MDL does not process rapid antigen testing. The MDL provides RT-PCR testing with results returned in 24 hours.

How long does it take to get a test kit?

If you are reordering kits, those kits will be ready within 5 business days. Test kits are available for request/purchase HERE .

How many variations of services agreements are there?

There are three (3) variations of services agreements based on the type of testing partner you are.

Do you need a medical professional for a nasopharyngeal swab?

Nasopharyngeal and Oropharyngeal swab testing requires a medical professional to administer the test collection. Testing Partners who choose to test via nasopharyngeal and orophaygeal swab will have to acquire their own medical professional. A medical professional will not be provided by the MDL.

How many packs of test are there?

Tests are available for purchase in packs of 50.

How long does it take for a lab to get results?

Tests are processed and results will be delivered within 24 hours from when the lab receives the sample specimen.
