The novel COVID-19 pandemic continues to be a critical public health concern and the Department of Housing and Residence Life, like many others at the University, are adapting their services, policies, and practices to minimize and stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
To further encourage students to get vaccinated, WSSU is offering several incentives for fully vaccinated students.
As we continue to operate through the pandemic, your safety remains our highest priority. In response to recent UNC System guidance regarding Covid-19 mitigation, we will be implementing the following additional preventative protocols.
All WSSU information will come to your university email address. We encourage you to put your university email account on your phone as you will get frequent updates about campus happenings.
A face covering is required in all indoor spaces, with the exception of your assigned private residence hall room.
WSSU will NOT require a COVID-19 vaccine to attend in the fall. However, we strongly encourage every student to get vaccinated. Students will be able to get vaccinated at any time during the semester by appointment at the Student Health and Wellness Center.
All residential students will receive $500 toward their meal plan for Fall 2021.
Student Health Services provides most services on an appointment basis. However, injuries or illness that require immediate attention may be evaluated by registered nurses, nurse practitioners, medical doctors, and other medical professionals.
Medical records are confidential. Students must sign a Release of Medical Information form to have medical information transferred to another provider of health services. Medical questions will not be answered over the phone or via email.
