The Antelope Valley Hospital OB Clinic offers men and women education, counseling, and treatment services through our Family Planning program. Family Planning (FP) is having the desired number of children and when you want to have them by using safe and effective modern methods.

What is a couplet care room?

Unlike the traditional approach, in which new babies are cared for in a separate nursery by dedicated nursery staff, couplet care places healthy newborns in the same room with their mothers until discharge. The couplet care rooms in our Women & Infants Pavilion include extra sleeping accommodations for the person the mother chooses to support her while in the hospital.

What is CPSP in California?

CPSP is a state-wide program that provides enhanced reimbursement for a wide range of services to Medi-Cal eligible pregnant and postpartum women. The CPSP model was founded on the belief that pregnancy and birth outcomes improve when routine obstetric care (prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care) is integrated with specific nutrition, health education, and psychosocial services.

What is Family Pact?

Family PACT is a program that provides no-cost family planning services. Women, men, and teens able to become pregnant or cause a pregnancy can get Family PACT services if they are low-income California residents.

Does Antelope Valley Hospital have free cancer screenings?

Antelope Valley Hospital is part of the Every Woman Counts program, providing free breast screenings, cervical cancer tests, and follow-up services to eligible California women. As women age, especially after 50, the chance of getting breast and cervical cancer goes up. Women should be screened regularly for breast and cervical cancer by a doctor.
