From an early age I was fascinated by science and the ways in which the human body functions. As I continued my medical studies, I became passionate about the field of Rheumatology due to the complexity and nature of its various conditions.

What I want my patients to know about me

I grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago as an avid sports fan and supporter of my hometown Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks and White Sox. In addition to sports, I had a passion for science and medicine which led me to pursue my medical studies abroad in Poland.

What I do when I'm not seeing patients

When I'm not seeing patients I enjoy hiking through America's national and state parks, traveling internationally, improving my photography skills, and maintaining an active lifestyle by playing sports and exercising daily.

Why I chose to pursue a career in medicine

As a biology major in college, I had not thought about what career to take. Having had a pediatric kidney disease, I had an interest in medicine. After taking my MCATs and doing well, I applied to medical school and got in on an early acceptance.

What I want my patients to know about me

I am very straightforward and will not hold back information. I like my patients to be well educated on their condition and will gladly spend time with them so that they are comfortable with what I feel is going on. Rheumatology is still a field that is considered the art of medicine.

What I do when I'm not seeing patients

I enjoy spending time at our family's cabin where there is no cell phone service. I enjoy almost any sport and will watch or play almost all of them. Going to my family's cabin, small weekend trips with friends and exercising are how I enjoy spending a majority of my time away from work. I also have quite an extensive LEGO collection.
