What is WakeMed Primary Care?

Our practice is committed to working with you and your family to develop a long-term relationship to help you manage your health. In order to make your visit as pleasant and effective as possible, please take a few minutes to review the following information.

How to contact a physician on call?

To reach the on-call physician, call 919-834-5299 and choose the prompt for the on-call physician. You may be asked to leave a message so that the physician can return your call. Please include your name, date of birth, physician's name, call-back number and your question or concern.

How long does it take for a prescription to be processed at the pharmacy?

Routine refills will not be processed after hours by the on-call physician. Please allow us up to three days to process refills once they are approved by the physician. Antibiotic prescriptions will not be called into the pharmacy prior to a physician's assessment of your current problem.

How to get a refill for medication?

Medication refills can be obtained during your office visit or by contacting your pharmacy to request a refill. Please provide us with accurate pharmacy information (telephone number and address) at the time of your office visit.

How long before you run out of medication to call?

Please don't let your medication run out. Plan on scheduling an appointment or calling at least seven days before you run out of medications. Routine refills will not be processed after hours by the on-call physician.
