Why can't I create a VSP account?

If you get notified that your account can't be created, there may be a couple reasons. One being, you'll need to be an active VSP member with effective coverage in order to create an account at this time. (If you've enrolled, but your coverage period hasn't started yet, you'll need to wait until it's active).

Does VSP cover Costco frames?

Frames covered in full* up to the retail allowance of $130. Costco® Optical allowance of $70 is equivalent to the frame allowance at VSP network doctor locations and participating retail chains.

Can I use VSP to buy contacts at Costco?

Since 1984, Costco Eye Center has been a place to buy cheap eyeglasses and eye exams. So you can trust the optical department for all your needs, including prescription glasses, contacts, and signature sunglasses. Costco accepts VSP, EyeMed insurance, as well as most major vision insurance plans in the market.

Does VSP cover glasses at Costco?

Large chain optical centers such as Costco, Sears, Walmart, Cohen's, etc. are not in-network for plans sold on this site.

What is PHI in VSP?

VSP Vision Care benefit information is considered (PHI). Our arrangement with the group policyholder, with respect to Protected Health Information (PHI), prevents members from accessing an adult dependent’s PHI without the dependent’s specific written authorization. Please call VSP at (800) 877-7195 if you have any questions.

How long does it take to get reimbursement from VSP?

Failure to submit your out-of-network claim within 12 months of the date of service may cause your claim request to be denied. Please allow up to 10 business days (plus mailing time to and from VSP) for us to process your reimbursement.

How to get reimbursement faster?

Tip: Missing information and receipts can delay your reimbursement. Fill out the form completely and if you're filling it out online, snap a picture of your receipt and attach it to your claim to get your reimbursement faster. If you have receipts for other claims you must complete a separate claim form.
