Aspirin Update:Many VCS patients are on aspirin as secondary prevention following a previous heart attack or known vascular disease and need to remain on aspirin therapy. It is patients with primary prevention (no prior cardiac or vascular history) that aspirin is likely to be unhelpful and possibly harmful. As always, check with your provider if you have questions.
VCS Invasive cardiologist focus on the detection and treatment of heart disease but are also trained in a diagnostic procedure called cardiac catheterization, using invasive catheters to identify blocked arteries.
In addition to specializing in cardiology, many of our physicians continued their training to add subspecialties in Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and Peripheral Vascular Disease. This means VCS physicians are truly able to care for all your heart care needs – from prevention and testing to cardiac and vascular interventions.
